Our History

Our county-wide celebration of American Craft Week began in 2011 with the first Mendocino County Celebrates American Craft Week. This self guided tour  has been a successful partnership between craft artists and local businesses. Over the years we have set up shows in galleries, tasting rooms, boutiques, museums, studios and even a light house.

From Alexis Moyer (The Pot Shop), a ceramic artist who wanted to participate in American Craft Week in a more meaningful way than by just holding an open studio on her own, the idea was born to gather together interesting places throughout Mendocino County to host shows in addition to her own studio. The events which happen in Ukiah, Anderson Valley, Fort Bragg, Mendocino, Little River, Point Arena and Gualala take place over two weekends giving visitors plenty of time to see them all.

This years event will once again take you to some new places in our county that you may have overlooked on your previous visits and will introduce you to some amazing artists and their wonderful artwork. (Event Schedule)
