We will be highlighting the beauty of the California shoreline in "California's Wild Edge: The Coast in Prints, Poetry, and History," an exhibit featuring artist Tom Killion's exquisite Japanese-style woodcut prints. Deepening the experience are complementary writings by Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Gary Snyder, and others. Kick off American Craft Week with us during our First Friday Art Walk Event on Friday, October 6th from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Printer Meredith Hudson-Redfield will be on hand to help you make prints with easily-carved foam blocks. The "California's Wild Edge" show ends its run at the Grace Hudson Museum during American Craft Week (its final day is Sunday, October 8th). The exhibit is originated by the San Francisco Public Library and artist Tom Killion, based on the Heyday Books publication of the same name, and is traveled by Exhibit Envoy.
We will have an open house Saturday October 14th and 15th. We will feature painting, woodwork, and other creations by our 2017 resident artist. Painter Tara Holl and other 2017 Resident Artists will be on hand to talk about their craft and showcase their work.
MICA (Mendocino Inland Ceramic Artists Guild) will be exhibiting the work of the late Frank Noyd, as well as their work that was inspired by him. This tribute will be showing for the month of October. Join us for the First Friday opening reception on October 2nd from 5 to 8 pm.
